Amy Marzulla, LMSW

You don’t have to go through it alone.

We live in a complex and often overwhelming world. It’s easy to feel disconnected, from ourselves, from others, from a sense of purpose or calm. But it is possible to reconnect in a deeper, more meaningful way. Together, we can explore how to find steadiness in the midst of what can’t be controlled, and how to create real, lasting change where it’s possible and needed.

I work with people who feel depressed, anxious, stuck, lost, overwhelmed, or shut down. This includes those navigating suicidal thoughts or urges, or engaging in high-risk behaviors.

I work with adults, as well as teens (age 13 and above). I am intentional in creating space that is trauma-informed and affirming of all parts of you, as well as open to folks who are LGBTQIA+, disabled, and/or neurodivergent.

I am engaged in extensive training and consultation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) and I am certified in Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). I understand the innate connection between our thoughts, the feelings in our bodies, and our natural environment. My practice often involves noticing this connection.

Services

Adults

Creating space for healing and growth
Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, or a major life transition, individual therapy provides a supportive environment to explore. We’ll work together to clarify what matters most to you, and develop strategies that bring more balance and meaning to your life.

Teens & Caregivers

Supporting stronger connections and understanding
I recognize the unique vulnerabilities and challenges of the lives of adolescents, and work to take great care in the therapy process to collaboratively work to find helpful and caring pathways to healing and wellness. This also includes intentional and consent-based work in navigating and supporting the caregiver relationship with both the adolescent and their therapy-space.

Approach to Suicidality

Centering collaborative care towards safety and stability
Suicidal thoughts, feelings and behaviors are present as a way to cope. I provide best-practice, collaborative care to understand the suicide-story, and move towards a life worth living. I work to have honest conversations and create collaborative care-plans with those I work with. I understand that the use of the police and hospital-systems can often be traumatic and increase risk.
